  1. Every either hiking or trekking activity can be named as T#D#x#-Type, where # is a number.

QMX Classification: Terrain

The T character means terrain, how difficult is to walk on it. The value goes from 0 to 6.


T0 - Very easy terrain that tends to be flat.
T1 - Easy terrain with slight slopes.
T2 - Terrain with medium difficulty. Constant walking with few stops.
T3 - Terrain with high medium difficulty, where the slopes and the type of the terrain reduces visibly the speed.
T4 - High difficulty of the terrain, where the slopes and the type of the terrain makes to stop several times.
T5 - Terrain with very high difficulty, where the progress is very slow due to the slopes and the type of the terrain.
T6 - Go thought a canyon with ropes and special equipment to still going forward.

    The D character means the path length or distance to walk. The values for this are from 0 to 7, doesn't matters the time.

      QMX classification: Distance


      In general, in less than one day:

      D0
       - Minor or equal to 1Km. (0.621 miles)
      D1 - Bigger than 1Km and lower or equal to 5Km. (from 0.622 to 3.1 miles)
      D2 - Bigger than 5Km and lower or equal to 10Km. (from 3.1 to 6.21 miles)
      D3 - Bigger than 10Km and lower or equal to 15Km. (from 6.21 miles to 9.32 miles)
      D4 - Bigger than 15Km and lower or equal to 25Km. (from 9.32 miles to 15.53 miles)

      Pn general it takes more than one day:
      D5 - Bigger than 25Km and lower or equal to 50Km. (from 15.53 to 31.06 miles)
      D6 - Bigger than 50Km and lower or equal to 100Km. (from 31.06 to 62.13 miles)

      In general, it takes more than three days:
      D7 - Bigger than 100Km and lower or equal to 200Km. (124.27 miles)

      To the character it given values from 0 to 5 to identify the porcentage of exploration in a route; from the point of view of the organizer.

      QMX classification: Scouting percentage
      Only to walk and see:
      x0 - The path is known 100% and it is certain that all the path is transitable.
      x1 - It is unknown until 5% of the path.

      There are good possibilities to get fun and a interesting way:
      x2It is unknown until 20% of the path.
      x3 - It is unknown until 40% of the path.

      To the adventure. The path can be easy or very difficult:
      x4 - It is unknown until 70% of the path.
      x5 - It is unknown until 100% of the path.

      And finally, Type it is given 3 characters to identify what type of outdoor is:

      Lo básico:
      Eo
       - Hiking in one day where the start and end point are the same.
      Ev - Hiking in one day where the start and end point are different.
      Co - Hiking for at least two days where the start and end point are the same.
      Cv
       - Hiking for at least two days where the start and end point are different. (Volanta)
      To - Tourist hiking where the start and end point are the same.
      Tv - Tourist hiking where the start and end point are different.
      Be - Canyon just explored.
      Br - Canyon explored before.
      Ce - Exploración de cueva / Cave just explored.
      Cr - Cave explored before.
      Ex - Hiking in one day, two groups that cross their path in one point.
      Ey - Hiking in one day, two groups start in different points, meet in a middle point and finish in a different one.

      The third character:
      S
       - It is added when the hiking is going on over marked and formal trails.
      U - This character is added when the hike is in an urban area.

        Changes in the QMX classification

        1. May 2014: First version.
        2. November 2014: U option is added in the third position of activity type..
        3. April 2015: T6 is added for canyoning. Be for canyon exploration, Br for canyon already explored.. 
        4. February 2016: Ce added for cave to explore, CR for cave explored.
        5. November 2016: Images added. Spanish/English in the same section instead split.
        6. December 2018: Ex and Ey were added. Two different pages for English and Spanish.
